This is an old print I have on my wall at the studio from my hometown vert ramp, Unley Pk in the late 90's. Its Steve Wilson ripping a bs ollie, now a travelling bs ollie on vert is really farkn hard - not sure if you've ever tried one but jeeeezus ok.. and I dont mean jesus god, I mean this is proper magic shit.Willow as he is generally known is a rad cat that just ripped so hard it used to make the world get super drunk and cry itself to sleep. The other day Chopper happened to be walking thru the studio car park with an armfull of art supplies as I was loading the car so I said " Oi Chop do you mind If I shoot a photo on my new iphone, you probably get that all day long dont you? He said yeah sure mate. We chatted for a bit, probably not long enough tho.

I really wanted to go have a beer with him but that wasnt going to happen this time. Next time I see him on the street he'll be like " hey your that guy that took a photo of me the other day, wanna get a beer?

Now that will be fukn cool. I might shoot a macro shot of his non existent ears...

This is with the 45mm lens, I wish I had that bloody xpan 30mm er I should re phrase that I wish i could just throw away 6k and get the 30mm and 90mm. Photography is an amazing thing, Why is it when you're deep you always want more and better stuff that you cant afford? A classic example of forgetting an integral part of my gear, I think I've done most of the fuck ups and possibly invented a few. Myself and Tommy had planned to shoot this shifty ollie for a Skateboarders Journal article. I rocked up on dusk and realised I'd left my trip pod at home...Anyway I shot it hand help on about 1/2 a sec exposure resting on my skateboard hence why the tower is all blurry I was bummed. By stroke of luck the flash kept Tommy and the bank sharp. I think we ended up using a different angle in print.

Saturday one day match - Hoon run

We went on a 'One day match' HOON run on Saturday hitting a few parks around outer Melbourne. Highlights of the day were, Cuzza spilling coffee in Fishes car, Blair and myself spilling beer in Fishes car and he didnt know [until now] Middsy doing kickflips to fakie on a flat bank wearing Transitions glasses* Fish getting MVP of the day and I cant believe I didnt take any photos of him. Micah telling me how not to get puffed out skating by not actually skating - I took note.

This is an old technique that was invented in the early 70's way back when Kodachrome 64 film was around where you actually burn the transparency with a flame. This shot of George Newsholme was run in a feature in an early Skateboarders Journal were I mucked around burning the crap out of a bunch of trannies with a gas burner then sandwiched them between glass and scanned them.

If you're down to try it make sure you use a few crap trannies first, they go up in flames very easily.
